He was born in Telfair County, Ga. on 1824. He served with Co. D, 66th Regt. Ga. Vols. Married to Joseph Raney in Telfair Co. GA on 11-1851. He died in Wilcox Co. GA on 10-28-1902

Inf.Widow's Pension-Wilcox County, Ga.-1909-Mrs. M. M. Ragan. Married to R. A. Ragan in Dooly County, Ga. on 5-1858.  He died in Wilcox County, Ga. on 12-5-1906.

Reid in Wilcox County, Ga. on 10-15-1871. Wilcox Co. Marriage Records: George W. Reid to Elen Ewing 10/15/1871. He served with Co. E, 49th Regt. Ga. Widow's Pension-Wilcox County, Ga.-1894-Amanda Rhodes. Married to Joseph Rhodes on 10-22-1855. He served with Co. E, 49th Regt. Ga. Vols. He died on 12-1879.

Buried in the Cedar Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Wilcox County, Ga.
