Captured at Wilderness, Va. May  6, 1864. Released June  15,1865. Widow's Pension-Wilcox County, Ga.-1907-Mrs. L. C: Handley. Married to John Ashley Handley in 1850. He served with Co. E, 49th Regt. Ga.

He was born in the State of Florida on 10-15-1822. He died in Wilcox County, Ga. on 9-14-1888. Buried in the Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery, Ben Hill County, Ga.

He died of typhoid fever in Camp Winder, Richmond, Va. on 10- 7-1862. Buried in the Hollywood Cemetery, Richmond, Va.

He died in Wilcox County, Ga. on 8-10-1909. Burial Site: Liberty Hill Cemetery, Wilcox Co. GA Tombstone Inscription: James W. Helms no dates (Family note: John W. Helms and James W. Helms are the same person, he was also called Jehu. He married Nancy Blakey)

Enlisted Pvt. in Company E. 12th GA Infantry 9-22-1863 in Macon, GA, POW Point Lookout MD captured at Petersburg April 2, 1865, Released Jun 28, 1865.  Oath of Allegiance stated a resident of Pulaski Co. GA Brown Hair, Hazel Eyes and 5ft. 10 1/2 in. tall

 Joel Thomas Hill,  He is buried at Sunnyside in Cordele.  He died May 14, 1923.  The old cemetery called Joe(l) Hill cemetery near Friendship church was on his old farm.  It is on the edge of Wilcox.  He was listed with family members in the 1860 census in Wilcox and 1850 in Dooly.  He had two brothers. Isaac was listed as having been from Pulaski on his amnesty papers.

William H. Hill enlisted as 1st Corporal in Co. G  "Dooly Guard" 60th Regiment of the Georgia First Infantry on October 11, 1861. Private William H. Hill, Co. G of the 60th Georgia was captured on May 12, 1864 at Mine Run during the battle of the Wilderness.  William H.  Hill arrived at the Elmira prison on August 14, 1864.  He died according to actual prison records on December 14, 1864 of pneumonia and left no personal effects.  He is buried in grave number 814 in Woodlawn National Cemetery in Elmira, NY.
